Hi all,

How do I get adsense to match my content on a page that is all graphic based? The graphic is updated daily so it is new content but adsense doesn't seem to recognize the content. it is for the stock market and is putting up ads relating to clip-art and graphics.

thanks in again for your help,

Hi, twoknivestan. Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com].

AdSense determines the topic of the page by reading the text. So, no text will result in untargeted ads. Your best bet is to add some on-page text, I'd say at least an H1 page heading and a descriptive paragraph. I'd also use a descriptive title element and a good meta description.

Give it a try and let us know if it works.

Also use well defined and descriptive alt tags for your images. You can also try naming your html pages things like my-website-image-topic.html which may not have a big effect but every bit counts. But in general I find H1 tags are the most important.

hmm we put a paragraph explaining with keywords on the graphic page the nature of the charts but still getting 'graphic product' targeted ads.

i am thinking that this may also have to do with that page link having /graphic/ in the name. it would be a pain to change this but was wondering is there was any other alternatives.

thnx

Give it up to 2 weeks for the page to be crawled.

Also consider enclosing the non related text on the page between
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->
and
<!-- google_ad_section_end(weight=ignore) -->

Good targeting can take a while. On my main site, it was a slap year before I got what I felt were really good, well targeted ads. And that's on a site that has been up since 1999.

page link having /graphic/ in the name

That's very possible, but AdSense might only have picked up on that because there wasn't enough other text for it to work from. As others have said, give it a bit of time to see what happens, then, if necessary, make the change to the URL.
