What to do instead of public service ads?

Does anyone here run their own ads instead of the public service ads? I have a few clients I'd rather advertise than waste space on PS. How do I do it?

you can choose alternate link option,
go there and put your links link.
preferable put a link to php file which displays one of your advertiser's ads randomly

Yes, it will work fine.

You can upload almost anything in place of Alternate Ads. You can even have G display nothing.

Alternate Ads were frequent a few years back but I have not seen one recently.

What sort of content is on the page?

This is since years a problem.

First I tried Amazon without any success

Later I tried an other alternate.

Now I generate thumbnail pics of my most recent reportages and put 10 of them scrollable into the PSA

Alternate Ads were frequent a few years back but I have not seen one recently.

Just checked my log files.

Only 233 PSA so far this month.

Seems this has gone down from around 2% to 0,15%
