I had heard that Google had changed their stance on this and that they now allow AdSense on SERPS (I'm more specifically talking about single site SERPS and not entire web SERPS, but I have seen them on both).
Can anyone confirm that please?
Do you mean that you have a script or something on your site that downloads the Google results for a given searchphrase, then create a page on your server, put AdSense on it, make it indexable, then put AdSense on it?
My situation is that I have a 800+ page website, and the content is searchable so that people can find what they want... I have AdSense on the results pages. The ads are very targetted, but some people have told me that this is not allowed, and some people have told me that it only used to be disallowed, but now they do permit it..
I have read through thr TOS and found some stuff relating to SERPS, but it kind of confused me?
Is anyone doing something similar, and are you certain that it's 100% in compliance with the AdSense TOS... and has anyone ever had their account closed for doing this?
If you are unsure, just consider whether the pages are of value to your site's visitors or not. If they do not hold any value, I wouldn't risk an AdSense account by putting AdSense on it.
Alternatively, there is now AdSense for Search:

I would not put AdSense on these pages, and I believe publishers will be seeing a crackdown on these kinds of pages.

This IS allowed. It was not allowed when AdSense launched, then they permitted publishers to ask permission to display AdSense on search result pages. But on a recent terms/policies update, AdSense changed it to allow AdSense on search result pages.
Are the pages useful to visitors.. YES .. how do I know? Because the average user will click through to one of the pages that is listed on the page..
So if someone searches in Google for "widgets" in Google and finds my internal SERP, they will see a listing of all the items we have related to widgets, and generally speaking they will click on one of the products or pages listed - all results on my serps are pages hosted on my site and they are unique content - there are no web results on my site i.e. there are no links to external sites, it's all internal, and none of the internal content is from anywhere but myself, it's not robbed from other sites.
I was just worried that I'd get an email after accumulating a nice amount of money to say that I'd been terminated - but I'll trust you know more and that this is indeed allowed.
Thank you.
In a word: YES ... So long as the payrate for AdSense remains the same, I'm making more money from the AdSense than I am from selling the products - and it's a hell of a lot less work (no packing, shipping etc..).
I have no problem with visitors going elsewhere, so long as I get paid for that, and with AdSense it seems to work out very well. People are still buying from the site (perhaps a 30% drop in sales since the AdSense addition) and I also get the money from advertising. I'm sure my competitors and happy, and so am I - Google makes money, so it's a win-win-win situation.
