Anyone having any luck using the adsense preview tool? Now that they disabled my 3rd party tracking, I decided to try to figure out which ads are really bringing my ecpm down since june 1st.

Went to fire up the not used in 4 months adsense preview tool, and all I get is some funky symbol where the preview tool used to show the "potential ads that might be shown".

This is really frustrating as ecpm down around 50% since I can't figure out which ads to filter out ( BTW I live overseas, so what I see on the site and what is actually shown are usually quite different).

This adds up to significant drop in revenue over a 1 month period.

My Preview Tool is working fine. I'm in the U.S.

As far as I know, there hasn't been an update to the Preview Tool in a while.

To follow up, I closed down my browser and tried again, then get this javascript message that there is an error at [pagead2.googlesyndication.com...]

I have also tried to use another adsense preview tool from a well known URL that does this and it too will not display any ads for any URL's given. Seems the code change has really done it's job to not allow us to see what will be shown on our site.

Added, not sure if you are using the adsense preview tool from mozilla which works for me, but just shows me the ads from my ip range, not from the us range, or the official adsense preview tool from google which works only with IE.

eljefe3:

Just double checked on my sites with the preview tool. Works like a charm on IE6, no error message, no empty page, all countries show ads. Either the code change progresses slowly (heaven help!), or it's just a problem/hickup on your end.
