Hi - a friend of mine asked if it was possible to enter the adsens scheme with a blog.
I can't see why not but I got in with a webiste so couldn't answer conclusively.
Anyone got in with a blog?

Thousands of Blogs use AdSense. It can be added automatically in Blogger.

Do blogs work well for Adsense? Or which kinds do?

It's the same as with any other site - if your content can get get well-targetted ads, and the blog gets traffic, then adsense will work well.
To be honest, I can't see much difference from the AdSense point of view between a CMS-driven website and a blog, in that the latter IS the former.

There are some self-proclaimed "professional bloggers" out there. Are they by definition MFA sites?

Gothwalk is right, a blog is just a website. Some do well in AdSense, some poorly. Some are MFA, some are not. It's all about traffic and content and the mechanics of how you get it online is irrelevant.

No more than self-proclaimed "professional webmasters." There is quite an industry of bloggers that blog about how much money you can make from blogging, or about SEO. However, this is just one niche among many. Probably the main categories are: blogging (of course); politics; personal life; technology; science; then there are corporate blogs, legal blogs, hobbyist blogs of a thousand varieties... These people vary hugely in motivation for blogging. Some do it for money, some for fame, some to push an agenda, some communicate with friends. They also vary hugely in quality, audience share, and income.
