Split from another thread:

In other news, Google endorses IE 6, by once again offering AdSense Preview Tool as the only remedy for self-clicking -- a tool that only works with Windows and IE 6. With all their billions, couldn't Google cough up, say, $10,000 to have someone make a similar tool for FireFox? AdSense Preview Tool continues to emit the odor of abandonware.

  • To be explicit about the irony here: Google makes a direct investment in FireFox, but then offers a tool that only works with IE.
  • Easygoin says there is a FireFox extension for this. Anybody got a minireview and a direct link? Of course, since the whole point of using the AdSense Preview Tool is to avoid violating the TOS, that dampens my enthusiasm for a tool that Google won't officially endorse...
  • fredw says Adsense Preview Tool also works with IE7. Hmmm, why won't Google list that as a supported platform? Just an oversight in the FAQ?
  • And of course, if Google ever did show any interest in reviving this tool, everybody's probably got a dozen suggestions on how to improve it. Who doesn't want an increased ability to see who's advertising where/when?

I find the tool useless, as it only shows me local ads. I have no idea what ads appear in other markets. The tool definitely needs a remake.
