hi everyone, this is my first ever post!

anyway what i wanted to know is once my adsense account has reached the threshhold of $100 which mine has :-) is it okay to remove all ads from my website just to make sure i get my payment as i dont want to risk anything! as its happened before where an ex friend click all my ads on Revver and it resulted in me being banned and not gettin paid. i dont want this to happen again.

thanks to anyone that can help me!

Of course, you can take down your ads whenever you want.

Obviously, you won't get any more money after that if you don't have any ads to show.

And now that you've publicly admitted to being banned, yet somehow getting an account again, the Google spies will probably be suspicious of any account with over $100 that suddenly stops producing clicks.

Danny, taking the ads down won't guarantee that you get paid. It is usually when it's time for the payment to go out that Google will audit the clicks. If some of those clicks on the way to $100 were bogus, you won't get paid at all.

welcome to webmaster world :)

It sometimes makes a lot of sense to remove all ads on or about the 20th of the month and then wait for your check. After cashing the check then put the ads back on the site around the 1st of the next month.

This will definitly assure you of getting 2/3 of what you would otherwise make for the month.

This will also be a great (worthless) exercise in html editing.

If you've done nothing wrong - and not breached TOS - there is no point in taking the ads down.

I would suggest - in light of what you stated - that you tell no-one your domain name. That way you know all clicks are legit.

If you have reason to doubt this at this point then notify Google - and tell them not to pay you the first $100 as you believe there may have been fraudulent clicks. You don't want to risk a life-time ban.

The questions you could ask yourself are:

- Is the content your own?
- Are you paying for traffic?
- Are you playing the arbitrage game?
- Are you tricking people into clicks (adsense too close to flash or javascript navigation elements)?
- Do you carry any statement on the site it will help you paying your hosting bills if people click?
etc.

My guess is you can pretty much answer your question yourself.

If their are no tricks involved, it would be foolish to remove the ads. It even would look suspicious to me.

But I don't work for G of course.
