Looking on the Adsense for Search Set Up there are 4 different type of boxes, what I want to do is modify any box ie. width, depth etc.. and also move the
"WEB & YOUR DOMAIN" radio buttons around.

In other words have the total flexebility to modify the box to my liking. Is that possible without breaking googles rules?

I wish I could change it too, but I don't dare.
email them, although I expect you'll get a canned response.

My guess is that they asked google. You should do the same.

Is it worth contacting Google and maybe showing them the kind of box I would like to feature on my site, or from your experience its a no hoper.

You can try, but I wouldn't be too hopeful. I once asked if I could change the background color for a search box from their standard grey to one just one notch lighter, to match my site at the time, and was told no in no uncertain terms.
