Adsense, Search and Referrals

What is the split on your site

Hey All

I am just curious, what kind of percentages breakdown does Adsense, Search and Referral income have on your site. If you are in PPA, feel free to throw that in too.
I'm looking at:

98.5%, 1.1%, 0.5% (some rounding)

I implemented the search as more of a service than a revenue source, but after two years, it's surprising how much it has contributed in total, despite only being 1.1% of income (over the time, its total is now about 1 weeks income of Adsense - a nice bonus). Referrals, well, they are pretty crap.

Also, does anyone know how to generate a total revenue across all categories? I can only seem to do one report at a time, so there is one for Adsense, another for Search and another for Referrals.

Referals are mostly nothing for me. Search usually runs about 30% but some days it's the biggest.

I had to get rid of using search and even link units. The ctr and ecpm was getting way too low. I left the firefox referrals up, as once in a while, get some 1 dollar clicks.

I dumped both search and referrals because they did not perform.

The payouts in search were very low along with the ctr. Referral conversions were very low and not once did I receive the full amount payable.

Year to date so far, 70% Content and 30% Search. Referrals are negligible, since I only just put them back on my site, and they only work when my traffic is high (summer months)

i removed the referrals and search and now only have adsense. It works best for me! I guess it would depend on the site itself. I remember searching for a software that recommended fire fox and so when I saw the referral button I would have definitely clicked on it if I didn’t have it already installed!
get my point?

Zero on search - now removed, zero on referrals. Will start taking referrals off as pages get updates.

Next to nothing on referrals, less than 1% on search. I use search to provide functionality to my users moreso than to earn money from it.

Almost zilch on referrals and search.
On each page I link to a search box and a page about "How to advertise" on my site. I don't use the "Advertise on this site" option in the ad unit.

People that get 30% of their revenue from search must have a search box on the top and/or bottom of every page.

Not at all. I have a single (small) search box on the main page of half my sites; the other half just have a regular navigational link that says "search" that will take the user to a page with a search box. I also have one and a half Google Custom Search engines. (I haven't finished the half yet)

Pretty much all of my search income comes in from sites with a lot of pages and content on them - the smaller sites (less than 50 pages) don't tend to need to be searched as much.

Search can be well worth it on large informational sites. Like netmeg said, smaller sites don't need search.

In my experience search has a about twice the CTR and three times the eCPM, it only has a lower total income because there are a lot more ad impressions than there are searches.
