AdSense ads used to drive people to malware sites?

(I hope I'm not violating TOS by posting these links, but I think these are legitimate issues that web masters need to be aware of, and discuss.)

According to this blog entry in the Washington Post, AdSense ads have been used as way to direct people to intermediate pages that contain virus/malware exploits before redirecting the visitor to the advertised site!
