Hi

I am in double thoughts on how to use channel effectively to optimize my website ad placement , to start with obvious in need to have channels to track the results

So where is the problem?

Channel naming!

How should i name the channels , you might be thinking what a foolish query , yep am not that smart

I was thinking on two aspects

1) Name channel on base of there placement and position on pages

Like : Top_Left
Bottom_Footer

Disadvantages : How can i be able to track which ad format is suiting the best , at some place and of which color

2) Name channels on base of ad format

Like : Leader_board
:Ad_link_180

Disadvantage
How can i track which position is giving me best results

---------------

How to converge these two ideas to get best results
I know there must be some better way to do this , to use both of these would be giving the most optimized results that is for sure

---------------

I am thinking to experiment with each set of settings for two days span and then would be making some changes to ad formats to get some idea how things are going
Am not sure what you think , but i wanted to seek your suggestions and use those to get good results

Thanks a lot in advance for yout comments and time

Have you done research on the "adsense golden triangle"?
The profitable positions should become apparent fairly quickly

I otherwise use channels for functional/marketing direction so I know where to focus my future efforts.

I use the url channels to see what market to focus on. And the named channels to track performance on type of ad and ad placement.
