What is the point of someone saying I have earned $xx or $zzz or whatever. WHAT can anyone learn from this?

My highest earning a day with adsense was 700USD,
The answer to your question is simple,
If you want to be paid more by advertisers you should:
1. increase your adsense ads impression
2. increase your CTR (click trought rate) by omtimizing your ads size, placement or color
3. [a lil bit sticky] focus on high paying keywords

Never mind focusing on random instances "highest paying' days. Just concentrate on making your earnings as stable as possible.

How? None really knows but if you read some of some recent posts you will soon work out that quite a few publishers are complaining about diminishing trends.

My best week was in Dec 2004, when I was pushing $400-500 a day.

Do it the fast way by creating something unique on the web, like a handy tool; or the old-fashioned way, by adding new stuff to your existing site.

What stuff? One can start by looking at the nonfiction section in the bookstore.
People love information, be it; info on cutting their lawns, managing their money, baking a better cake, finding a hobby, playing with their kids, learning about global warming, building an igloo, etc.

Writing unique articles is the gift that keeps giving as in $.

Best day ever? Over $2,500. I can share that with you because it has no bearing on what I make normally. It was due to a short-lived spike for a site whose traffic subsequently evaporated.
