Section targeting work for anyone?

I've tried section targeting before, but gave it up as it didn't seem to work.

Lately due to untargeted ads I've added section targeting back. Was wondering if anyone has any experience they'd like to share - and i also had a question regarding implementation:

The Google page at [google.com...] explains the tags. However:

... doesn't seem to have a closing tag. What should I use?

wyweb, that's for sections you wish to have targeted (content). The tag I included above is for stuff you don't want targeted, such as headers/footers, navigation, etc.

They show an opening tag, but no closing tag.

Actually, I imagine it would be the same closing tag for either one.

I'm guessing here...

The closing tag is the same whether you're trying to include or exclude content:

I've used section targeting on about 600 pages for over a year if for no other reason than to exclude navigation sections from crawler evaluation.

I also have another 60 pages that I had a very tough time forcing ad relevancy where I used targeting with good success. Ultimately though, I contacted Google and they put a filter on my account to block the WAY off target ad category.

All in all section targeting works well. It does take some time for it to become effective and... if you do too much in the way of page redesign you may find yourself starting all over.

I am also waiting to see if it work. adsense support said wait for 2-3 weeks.

It would be nice if they put a filter or something for me.
