May I put AdSense on a "search-for-content" page?

I'm not sure if my page is considered a 'content' page

Hello guys.

I know that you can't put AdSense ads on pages without 'content'. I can understand that.

However I have a page and I'm not sure if I can put ads in it. My site is a travel site, and it's a page in which you can 'search' for restaurants. So it hasn't got real content, but I'm sure google will find great ads - you see the restauant, the types of places (japanese, chinese, american...), budget types, options, and also the location of the place (it's a page about just one city).

The data itself is retrieved using AJAX, so it's not on the page when it loads.

What do you think? Can I put adsense in this page?

I guess you have answered your own question:

"So it hasn't got real content..."

Matt,

yeah - it ain't got 'real' content. But as I think the targeting can be great (after all, people looking for a restaurant in a certain town) - maybe it's a good idea to 'monetize' the page.

What sort of ads show up if you use the preview tool?

If you get appropriate ads showing, then you probably have enough content to allow you to use adsense. (That is assuming you don't have your metatages stuffed full of restaurant related keywords).

IMHO the test that matters is "If someone searched on topic "x" and came to the page concerned, would they be disappointed?" If the answer is "No", then Adsense should be OK.
