No offence to any one here but do them really plain boring sites with loads and loads of text and tiny photos in the articles do well with adsense?

I always like to go with nice looking pages and nice looking interface.

My site has loads and loads of text, with no pictures even (tiny or otherwise). Yes, it looks pretty boring - just the navigation structure, some ads on the right column and yes, text. The only thing that livens up the page are the ads (if an image ad is served)

My visitors come to my site to read and get information so that's what I am giving them. Not nice looking interface. It's the quality of the content that counts.

Now to your question, am I doing well with Adsense with a really plain boring site? Yes, I make 5 digits a month from Adsense (and I don't mean the low $10k).

My site may be boring, but let's just say that the Taxman is really happy with me.

Boring is relative anyway. If the text is information that the user *really* wants or needs, the site is a God-send.

Even so, jazzing it up a bit *might* help, but if the content is good enough there is no need.

Consider a forum site. Most of the internal pages in the serps, including good ole webmasterworld, are nothing but text.

I have a forum that does fantastic with adsense, and the pages are just threads... Text.
