AdSense Increases Referral Fees to $250

I thought I could share this mail with you...

- When a publisher who signed up for Google AdSense through your referral earns their first $5 within 180 days of sign-up, you will be credited with $5.
- When that same publisher earns $100 within 180 days of sign-up and is eligible for payment, you will be credited with an additional $250.

- If, in any 180-day period, you refer 25 publishers who each earn more than $100 within 180 days of their respective sign-ups and are all eligible for payout, you will be awarded a $2,000 bonus (bonus payouts are limited to 1 per year).

Without wanting to put a downer on this... has anyone actually earned money from this referral? It's hard enough to get users to click on the banner - never mind sign up - never mind earn money for themselves...

In my experience 10,000 page views can fly by with nary a click.

Well done to anyone who has succeeded with this! Is there anyone out there who can testify? ;o)

I think they realize most people just wouldn't promote it.
$5 for referrals when you could use your ad space to put in Adsense codes.
It took me 5 months at least to get the Adsense thing right & I believe most people think the same. It's more tempting now though.

$5 in 6 months is way easier to make than $100 they had before.

These will be hard - this means existing trafficed sites - and few of them don't already know about adsense.

I don't think this is going to work, a publisher is likely not to refer another publisher to share the pie even though they are in different business sectors.

If Google makes a schedule that the referer may receive life time payment in asscciated to the income from all publishers refered, I believe that will be totally a different story.

I would too. Even if it was a very small amount. It would be like an investment, over time with enough trickling in referals you could start making a tidy sum.

This is not too far fetched either, might actually see this one day...

I actually had a refer make the limit this week, a couple of days after the change.(luck was with me for once). Of course i knew the person and it probaly took her almost the full 180 days to make it. It also probaly wasn't an hour after i saw in my account the credit, i got an email from her saying she crossed the limit earlier that day, so it was pretty quick from the moment she hit a 100 until i got credit.

I can not complain about the returns from adsense referrals. Especially the text links seams to work very well. But I think that it's only working on webmasters related sites. In that case are the visitors also not your concurrent.

This is good news for me at least. i have been able to get few referral bonus till now and anticipating few new signup this month.

I think this is more about quality than quantity. Raising the referral fees, will motivate many more mid-size publishers that have an attractive demographic.

I've received two $5 payments. Never had anyone out of about 30 signups make the $100 level in 180 days.

I had 2 $100 payouts a couple of months ago, and I'm now getting a trickle of the $5 payouts as well.

13 days after my first adsense signup I got credited with $5, I hope the second part of the referral is going to happen. It does work so far!

i got the referral amount twice. But its very hard for somebody making 100 $ in 180 days. Its good that google increased their referral amou nt.
