Site Targeting: Only Image Ads?

Should I Limit Site Targeting Spots to eCPM Ads Only?

I'm thinking about implementing site targeting, specifically the 300x250 ads that Google sent the emails about.

I'd like to take some space from my top banner and turn that into ad space. I figured that it's a spot above the fold that currently isn't being used and hopefully wouldn't look too ugly if done properly.

My question is whether to allow only image ads in this spot or both image and text ads. The reason I'm hesitant to allow text ads is that this isn't a place that gives high CTR and it would be the adblock that loads first, and thus gets all the high-paying ads. The ads in the good spots that get clicks would be worth less.

On the other hand, if I allow only image ads, am I lowering the competition for pricing too much and thus hurting revenue that way?

Based on what any of you know, should I allow both types of ads or just images?

why not try both on a dueling page test over a couple of weeks and compare the results?
