Checkout Inside AdSense [adsense.blogspot.com] for news on the latest changes affecting publishers that refer publishers to Adsense or advertizers to Adwords.

These look like pretty big changes to me, but maybe I haven't been paying attention.

For AdSense:

# When a publisher who signed up for Google AdSense through your referral earns their first $5 within 180 days of sign-up, you will be credited with $5.

This next part tells me they REALLY want/need more publishers.

# When that same publisher earns $100 within 180 days of sign-up and is eligible for payment, you will be credited with an additional $250.

For Adwords:

# When an advertiser you refer spends $5 within 90 days of sign-up (in addition to the $5 sign-up fee) you will be credited with $5.
# When that same advertiser spends $100 within 90 days of sign-up, you will be credited with an additional $40.

There's more news for both types of referrals, so read the post at Inside AdSense [adsense.blogspot.com]

Thanks for the info. Looks indeed quite different to the past, and makes getting Adsense publishers very interesting, but Adwords referrals do also look good.

In fact they are looking for quality publishers. Apparently they get tons of sign-ups for Adsense that hardly get past $100 in the first 180 days. I guess that webmasters in that league already know about Adsense and have made their decision (i.e. either they use Adsense, or they will not use Adsense). Hence, to get these guys, Google must spend big bucks.

IMHO, you'd still be unwise to refer webmasters who are looking at your site (your niche) to be your own direct competition for ads.

It is really tough to earn money at Adsense in the beginning though. It took me a year to build $100.

What if I ask my frd to signup, then help him earn $100 on my own site by replacing my script with his adsense id?

Is it against TOS?

What do you think? Cheating in any way is against the TOS.
