Colorful Adsense Ads?

When did this happen?

I've been to a couple of tech blogs in the last few days, and the adsense ads showing on their sites are BIG, BOLD and COLORFUL.

When did this happen? Is this a test by Google or a configurable feature?

Maybe you've been seeing site-targeted CPM text ads? Those typically have large color headlines plus larger-than-normal body text, with just one big ad per ad unit.

Ewwww, I just came here to see if others saw this!

When you have a 300x250 ad unit the font grows to like 18pt, and looks ridiculous, with one advertiser filling the space.

Income went down, so I'm blocking the advertiser as we speak. Partly for the decrease, but mostly for the ugliness of the ad.
