Usually I have them all by now?
I guess it will be like waiting for a bus, no sign for hours....then dozens arrive at once!
It doesn't much matter as I don't need their numbers to file taxes, but, it is odd that everyone this year seems to be very late in sending out 1099's?
Was there a legal change of some type that has complicated the process for the senders?
A number of my affiliate checks are also late this month, is it because the accounts departments are too busy with 1099 processing?
As long as you keep pristine accounting records, it shouldn't matter much though... as you should likely know the number(s) being reported.
30 days to organize a year's worth of paperwork doesn't seem like enough time to me.
For the rest of you who also think keeping records is something you only need to do once a year during Tax Time, please do yourself (and your accountant) a favor by investing a couple hundred dollars (cheaper solutions are also available) and buy QuickBooks, or Quicken, or something similar. You can spit out a report of all the contractors you owe 1099s to in just a few clicks.
1099s are a pain in the neck for businesses large and small and everyone I know of has trouble getting them out on time.
Reminder: If you are incorporated and have a EIN (employer identification number) instead of a Social Security number, businesses aren't required to send you a 1099, though many will anyway.
The IRS allows some buffer time (up to February 15th) for folks to receive 1099's. If you have not received your 1099's by February 15th, you can contact the IRS for assistance.
I have one 1099 and one W2 still lingering out there.
It looks like they just sent me two copies for some reason. Hopefully, the IRS only got one copy.
What I will do before I file in April is go to the local IRS office and ask them to run a check on my account for 2006 to see what they show for income from Google.
If the amount they have from Google is incorrect, Google will have to make the correction to the IRS anyway. You need to contact Google.
Good luck.

I just got a duplicate 1099 myself, absolutely identical to the first.
I called the phone number on the 1099 and it is a non-working number at Google. So that referred me to the "operator" and the automated voice informed me that the officw isn't open until Monday, of course.
I didn't get a dup last year. Perhaps they feel bad for not sending me either a GoogleGift or a GoogleCard, so they decided to double my tax liability.
