Multi Ads per page?

Have Google changed their policy for some Adsense Users?

I've just seen what I consider to be a very large site with adsense ads place in a number of positions. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention names of sites here but its

<snip>

They have it as a banner, and then two rectangle spots at the bottom. On sites stats pages they have a banner and a skyscraper.

does this break Googles rules or have they made an exception for larger advertisers?

[edit reason] No "outting" of publisher sites please, as per charter [/edit]

No, nothing has changed, regular publishers are still only allowed one ad unit per page.

question is - are they a 'regular' publisher Jenstar?

I see I shouldn't have named them - sorry about that.

Yes, they are a regular publisher, not a premium publisher. I can't recall seeing a premium publisher with multiple AdSense units on a single page recently, either.

I saw the site, and at a guess I'd say they were in serious breach of the TOS.

I remember something about the TOS being altered a few months ago. The alteration brought all of this topic up as it was leading us to believe that we could have more than one unit as long as the ads were different.

Now google said that they had to change it at that time as they were planning to bring in a feature during the following quarter. Saying that the changes to the TOS had to be done in good time....

I am not a statistician but I think a quarter is 3 months. HHHmmmm

I have noticed multiple ad units on web pages lately.
I checked the Google AdSense Program Policies. It has been updated June 17 and states (in Ad Placement section):
"Multiple ad units may be displayed on each Web site page, but no ad unit shall contain any advertisement in common with any other ad unit."

that may be true - but its not in this case...three different ads on one page in diffrent positions - some are double ups....

weird.

I don't care if he's breaking the rules or not really - just would love to do a similar thing :-)

One day they might allow it somehow
