Smart-Pricing - Does it apply to non-sales converting ads?

I was just curious. I'm running a website where only 6,350 clicks earns me $320 dollars.

My CTR is usually only around 0.50% and I'm getting very frustrated.

The question I have is just what is stated in the title. I know the advertisers on my site are not looking to earn sales, but only to get traffic.

I have a very extensive block list. I've tried removing it and it only made my low EPC even lower.

I guess there is no way to make more per click. I have channels set up and see the low converting pages. If I've already been smart priced is it even worth removing ads?

I would love if someone knew a way to help me increae CTR, the good but bad part is that the better I make the site, the less clicks I get.

Feel free to PM me for the URL, I'm getting desperate here.

I know the advertisers on my site are not looking to earn sales, but only to get traffic.

This is likely to be the issue.

Advertisers are unlikely to be willing to pay very much for just a visitor. That would be a good way of spendinga lot of money quickly.

Put yourself in the position of someone advertising on your site - how much would you be prepared to pay to attract a visitor?

It's up to the advertiser to define what "conversion" means, but in any case, leads can be more valuable to an advertiser than e-commerce transactions are.

As Pengi suggests, buying traffic (as opposed to leads) is another story--and when advertisers are just looking for visitors to join their forums, read their articles, etc., they probably aren't bidding much.

EPC seems to be 19c, assuming my arithmetic is correct.
Thats fairly good for a non-sales clicks.
I would identify your problem as the ctr - 0.5% is appalling! :(
You either have to improve the ctr or increase the number of visitors.
I take it you have looked at all the material available for improving ctr, such as blending, etc.
If you are running a forum (as is common for that level of ctr) there is a thread here somewhere which dicusses how someone here only showed adds every 8 or so page views on their forum for maximum ctr.
Good luck!

Cdog I am in exactly the same position as you even to the abysmal ctr.

Its a hard road as a little fish :)
