I placed an MFA site into the adfilter yesterday afternoon, and now, 16 hours later the site still appears all over my site. Adsense's guide to competitive ad filtering says " Note : It may take up to 4 hours for ads linking to these URLs to be filtered from your pages." Has anyone else had these problems. I used the followong format in the ad filter.

I've had it take longer, it will filter out pretty soon.

I haven't noticed any problems on my site. Some other folks talked about blocked ads appearing on their sites in this thread:

Apparently, Google has been having issues with the filter.

This is another shining example of why we should be allowed to block by publisher id. I now have seven identical sites in my competitive filter that are from the same owner. The fact that Adwords can't stop this stuff or doesn't care should be embarrassing to Google.

Obviously they do not want us to have better tools to filter sites. As for the reasons, I am not sure - I guess they feel that either their profit is going down or they can't handle it technically. But one thing is clear: if they wanted us to have better filters, we'd have 'em.

I think I will clear my filter list and re-build in January to see which MFAs have given up.

You also have to carefully check the listed URL for a site you want to block is correct. It's not always what you see. I've tossed sites into to the competitive ad filter list, only to see them the next day. Then I right-clicked their ad on my site (being careful not to click the ad or it's click fraud!), only to find the actual domain name.
