I just started using AdSense this month. I am very happy with my earnings so far, but was wondering how my clickthrough rate compares. My average daily clickthrough rate for the month is only 3.9%. Is this low? I realize with all the different topics out there I'm not exactly comparing apples to apples.

FWIW I did start out with lower CTR until I changed them to skyscaper.

Any inout is appreciated.

Yes you are right -- you are comparing apples to apples :o)

Many will say that the CTR you mentioned is very high; some will say that it is about par; while some will say they get even higher CTR. But you will seldom get any specifics from the others here. Against TOS, they say :o)

I would tend to believe the CTR is more about the content you display.. o I have no data or stats to back this up... but I believe a more newbie oriented site that focuses more for users new to the internet or not as tech saavy as most to have a higher CTR than say an advanced users site, such as a lets say for instance 'assembly-code.com' admin would have a lower CTR than 'reality-show-update.com'. again its just my opinion , but i think even tho the ads are targeted, more tech saavy people don't tend to click the ads as much as new users.

I'd say you're around average but I would urge you to edit your post and remove the specific figure.

really depends on unique pageviews per visitor. CTR is a completely meaningless stat

Of course, to bolster the ego of low CTR earners, there's always the old line "are people finding what they want on your site, or are they looking for a reason to leave?" :-)

Sunflux - I've wondered that too. They have to be clicking on AdSense because they cannot find what they want on my sitee :(
