my referrals conversions in the last 2 days are extremely low, much lower then any regular day in the last few months.
Impressions are around the regular average.
Anyone notice the same?

Yes!

I am seeing the exact same thing and was wondering about it too.

One more thing: The problem is only with Firefox conversions.
Other referrals stats look like a regular day.

Clicks look ok, and so does CTR. Most of my traffic is US and price per conversion looks normal as well.
It's only the conversions - 70% down.

We are seeing the exact same thing, very out of place/low number of conversions over the last few days.

If they're running out of budget, they would have lowered the payout or stopped the program, this can only mean one thing:

drum roll, <insert evil laugh here>

Referral SmartPricing

I would be pissed and disgusted, PPA SmartPricing? only a sick mind (like mine) can come up with such self contradicting evil!

They did not do that.
price per conversion is still the regular average.

smart pricing does not make sense.
Why (the hell) would they do that.

ok...it's not just me...

I concur that it's in the conversion rates.

Mine is cut in half...from about 50 percent over clicks...to 20-22 percent

maybe they added something to make it stricter? or possibly something is broke and they'll "make it up to us".

I have seen something similiar happen a while back, but it only lasted a day and then I saw much better stats for the next couple of days.

Here the same problem. Looks like they have added something to make it stricter, as surftrack says. I didn't noticed it yet, but maybe there are server problems; so the referral download page isn't always up?

That problem was here a while ago, but it looks like they've simply changed the definition of a conversion.

Think we're up for an RCD Referral Conversions Dump?

Live long enough and you're gonna see all kinds of weird terms!

Hi All,
In spending a lot of time reading this forum, when " smart negative to revenue " happens to publishers, we hear a huge cry.

It would seem to me that it corrects itself over a few months, and those that work at being better publishers are the ones that it effects the least.

I sight markus007 posting of the past, he went on talking about how smart "something" slashed his revenue ( this is about 2 years ago ) but over the next few months he recovered and grew ( back to the same ecpm ). so I am not worried.

if anything " smart any-action " will benefit those that are willing to work at it, and shake out the weak players.

btw
"Referral SmartPricing " was meant as a joke,
Couldn't happen under PPA, and as I said is a self contradicting term.

For me referral conversions suck just as badly as they've always done. On my site they're virtually useless. Regular ads convert quite well but my readers just aren't interested in the referrals.

Hobbs,

I do love the analogy

<insert evil laugh>

That was funny!

We just put referrals up on our sites yesterday. Does anyone have any advice on placement of refferals and the size that seems to work? Currently we have them on the footer.

Friday saw an excellent jump in number of Referral conversions recorded as well as earnings.

This must be the first ever Referral Conversions Dump?

Probably they were investigating some conversions and then crediting them back to us.

You don't get a fixed amount for referrals, do you?
Sounds very smart to me ;)
