Adsense : what is 'adult or mature' content

Could mean anything really. My client is a dating agency. They want to enable it with Adsense - but they are worried about this 'adult or mature' line in the Adsense ToS. Internally we started arguing about what would be considered 'mature': AdultFriendFinder would make the grade but Match.com wouldn't, etc.

My question is: are dating sites considered 'unsuitable' for Adsense? If so, what are our alternatives?

Any pointer would be much appreciated!

Dating sites can be acceptable and can do well with Adsense so I hear.

I guess it will depend on the site and how it's presented though - I have come across some very shoddy ones - that I'm told can earn £20,000 in a month from adsense - although whether this can be done from legitimate traffic is up for debate.

I've also come across some "dating" sites that a definately "adult" and would certainly not be acceptable!

Well presented, respectable sites - that you wouldn't mind your 13 year old daughter visiting should not be a problem.

Thank you guys, I've just found this picture of an adsense 900K CAD check to plentyoffish.com, a dating site, so I guess that sort of answered my question once and for all :D

BTW Is that check for real? The plenty of fish site seems to be using azoogle now. I guess 900K wasn't enough for them?

I think the check is for real - but it's been done and it's been well publicised - guess you'll need to find another bucket of money somewhere else.

I think the ToS is intentionally unclear about it to allow freedom for them to decide if you're in or out.

I think your income from Adsense will be more unreliable if you add it to a dating site than if you have other -less mature- content.

Personally I strive for "G" rated material.

Thank you all! I was wondering, if adsense is not a good match, who do you think would be more appropriate for more 'risque' publishers like us?
