I would like to make sure that nobody at my company clicks on my ads.
I don't want to remove them all because it will ruin the page layout.
I thought about setting the id to pubid-000000000000 in case the IP belongs to my company.
Do you think this is a good idea?
How about TOS violations?
Did anyone find a better way to play it safe?

Have you tried to email adsense on this issue - ask them if they have suggestions on how you can circumvent this situation? Or perhaps the ASA would like to add his/her comments to this. :)

if your company has a static ip then you can easily serve no ads and use a placeholder image, so as not to break the layout, if someone comes in from that ip

I use several methods at the same time. In the part of my dynamic site that displays the ads, I've blocked the IP addresses of my workplace. So that I can see my ads at work, I've added a "secret string" to my browser's user agent string which when recognized bypasses the ip restriction. I also have a different "secret string" that I've surrepticiously added to some friend's and family's browsers that causes my site to block their ads.

Don't tell your friends / family any of your URLs.

Just don't. Only my wife and a good friend know any of mine (as far as friends / family i mean)
