Block clicks from a specific country

Does google have this option in adsense setup or is it available?

I have heard many times about that google banned an account because of invalid clicks but so far we have no ideas where are all good and bad clicks come from.

I'm an account owner and seeking for ways to protect myself and don't want to get my account banned of course. Invalid clicks can be done in anywhere in the world and we never know where it's from then you end up with an email from google saying your account is banned .

I really think this is not fair, an account owner should atleast have a chance to protect himself.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I show all my AdSense code by SSI.

So it's easy to set up to show for a specific country other ads.
For example Amazon. Nobody is cicked from Amazon for invalid clicks, the strange empty space for the AdSense ads is filled up.

I do this actualy with one of my internet promotion clients.

I looked on my stats when my notebook was connected to his network. Since he has ISDN, I thought shure he has dynamic IP and it's save.

But I was wrong, he has a static IP. Since his company is involved in the same area as one of my main sites, and he surfs often on my site, I thought to go the secure way and show for his static IP only Amazon ads.

If you want that, you have to do it yourself.

1) look at the visitor's IP
2) see where it comes from
3) if ok, show adsense, else show another ad

If your site is pure static html, then you have to convert it to dynamic or start parsing html files through SSI (or even php!)

So, you would block the entire world? If you don't know who the "enemy" is... how do you intend to fight them through blocking?

I doubt we'll be seeing an Invalid Clicks section in the AdSense control panel anytime soon.

Sounds like unfounded paranoia to me.

I don't see what's "not fair" about the situation, but as stated above you can use SSI or PHP combined with the free tool GeoIP. If that's overkill, you can use the quick and dirty solution of hard-coding the particular IP blocks you don't want to serve ads to.

Yep, that'll ensure you do not get any valid earnings:-)

If you're that paranoid, write to AdSense.

FWIW I probably have more of an international traffic as a percentage of visitors than many sites, that's the nature of my business, and I have never felt the necessity to even consider this course of action let alone wonder how to implement it.

I have also been told if I drink too much beer I may also get drunk. That does happen!

Geotargeting is not reliable. You cannot assume that just because an IP address, or language tag, or some other attribute of the visitor to your site says it belongs to some location, that the visitor is actually coming from that location. In general, IP address "countries" are a function of registration, not location.

IMO, the best "protection" in AdSense is to treat it as if it was an investment. Diversify. Don't leave yourself vulnerable to traffic that might lead to a loss of income due to smartpricing, banning, etc.
