Has anyone tried translating web pages/websites into different languages to increase earnings?

Does it work?

Hello tall,

I've asked this question also, and yes if you target other countries with relevant content sure it works.

You may want to check out how much that target countries market is spending in PPC to make sure its worth the cost and effort.

Be aware that using any software to translate content is not going to work, do it right and hire someone that can transfer the content in a user friendly manner.

I install a script to translate my site (English) to other 8 languages.
The script utilize google translator to do the translation.

I don't know how precise the result, but I hope that the visitors can grab the general topic from the translation result.

The results are far from precise. The non-English speakers reading your "translated" pages will either laugh in amusement or shake their heads in pity.

Before you damage your reputation even further, I'd suggest you take down the "translations" and pay to have them done professionally.

To be fair to potterycentre, it does clearly say Google translations so nobody is expecting perfection.

If I visit a foreign language site, I appreciate any English translation, perfect or not.
