Well first of all there are server-side newsfeeds available, so in those cases the Mediapartners bot will have something to target to. The effectiveness will depend on how targeted the newsfeed is and how targeted your audience is.

Putting AdSense on a Flash-only website doesn't seem like too good an idea. In fact, I think most people here would suggest that a Flash-only website isn't too good an idea either. You could integrate a certain amount of plain text onto the pages to tell the spider what's going on, but IMO that's getting close to keyword stuffing and isn't what Google have in mind for this program.
