The subject of this site has TONS of well paying ads in inventory and my visitors are the perfect prey for thousands of advertisers. This particular widget site is not a great earner, by my standards, because the content is so good that most visitors have rarely the need to click the ads. It's overall CTR is only about 1%.
I've only recently started to look at this site while I was thinking about emailing Google to opt out of site targeting. At first glance the Contextual vs. Site Reports seemed to confirm my suspicion that CPM ads were bad for me because the earnings for Contextual ads are 535% more than the earnings for site targeted ads. When I looked closer at the report I noticed that Site CTR was 7 times better than contextual, and the Site eCPM is 9 times better than that of Contextual ads.
Here's my cunumdrum:
I've tried affiliates on this site to no avail. (It would probably work great if I could rewrite their landing pages :p )
For every 750,000 Ad Impression only 15,000 are Site Targetted.
I would love to try disabling Contextual ads but just on this site. In theory my earnings would jump 900%. Of course G does not allow that and even if they did it would most likely be account wide and except for this site, it would put me in the poor house.
Has anyone else seen this?
Could I entice Advertisers to use Googles Site Targeting? Has anyone succesfully done this?
Are there any other decent CPM networks that will pay ~$2 per 1000 impressions with targeted ads? (ringtones need not apply)
Any ideas?

Have you asked those you affiliate with about this? If tweaking landing pages will result (as you believe) in more sales then I can't see why this would be rejected.

Have you tried going directly to advertisers? That is bypassing Google.

Maybe I sounded a little over confident in the success that rewriting their landing page would give me. Of course that would be a variable. In any case, I have never asked an affiliate that question.

I have thought of that but I'm quite busy just trying to get this site out of supplemental hell since the last G update. My traffic has dropped quite a bit since then and is slow to climb back up. Not to mention the 2 dozen other sites to maintain.
For this site what I am looking for is a quality Plug & Play CPM provider until my traffic is back where it should be and would then be interesting for advertisers.
In general what I'm also looking for is if anyone else here has a site with adsense that performs better with CPM ads than contextual ads and if they have done anything about it.
