Christmas is coming - but what do you believe the threshold will be this year to obtain a Google Gift? Mine got 'lost in the post' last year and now seems the time to put in place a policy to avoid the same fate this year...

What top tips can you give to help with rising in the Google Gift eligability scale?

Hunterdown suggested a $1000/month cutoff here [webmasterworld.com] - but it doesn't seem consistant from other messages here...

Question two: What will the gift be this year?

I suggest Google send to those who missed it last year.

I think all people should get a pressy regardless of earnings - afterall everyone helps to put the coffers in Google bank account!

I had the radio 2 years ago but missed the gift last year. I have always averaged over 5k a month.

Who is going to send a gift to Google. After all it is the season of giving and receiving!

It should be something simple, then everyone could receive one.
I suggest a Google T-shirt, preferably fair-trade, oragnic cotton. With the inscription "Do no evil".

This one's a bit of a no-brainer. If you follow the logic of the radio two years ago and the thumb drive kit last year, I'll bet a rubber chicken that we get a cheap, yet adequate, Google-branded webcam.

After all, the YouTube deal closes in December. Google Video is growing too. Why wouldn't it use the opportunity to gift something that will help populate those sites?

So you heard it here first.

* Hoping that if it's not a webcam that it's a Google-branded rubber chicken so I can still come through with my wager.

a 2000 sites filter list option would make us all happy. ;)

Web-cam - mmmmmm. Thing is most of us have got all this stuff - web cams, headphones etc, etc. Afterall we are all pretty much Google dweebs - why wouldn't we have them. An innovative gift would be groovy. At the end of the day a gift is meant to be something you wouldn't normally buy yourself. Maybe they'll send us all a Google mini-fridge - as Adwords just doesn't seem able to get them in the post! :)

a "your account has been suspended due to invalid clicks" letter, hand delivered in a laminated gold envelope ( preferably on the last working day before christmas so you have to wait until 2007 before complaining ;)

I wouldn't mind a bucketful of USB hubs if they've got any left, barring that Champagne would do nicely:-)

I'd love getting the gift that they didn't send me last year. I can't imagine that I didn't qualify, but have no idea what the threshold is. Last year I heard of people receiving the gift who made less than I.

My radio broke from the year before. :-(

Oh well,

Don't expect one. It's the thought that counts, not the gift.

Yeah, right.

Optirex, you can just forget about a gift. Too many stats stuck post.

Threshold: Have one, preferably more, wow I had a great day, or I made #*$!$ dollars this month, explicitly saying thank you Google.

Thank you Google I'm having a great month.

Did I miss one? Got radio/coloured lamp, got the wireless mouse and other stuff, no lavalamp! I want one!

I'd be happy just to get a greeting card.

A t-shirt would be nice, a coffee mug would be very useful, and I'm sure I could find a use for any other item.

However, I'll probably get exactly what I expect -- nothing.

You sound a bit depressive! If you are good google will send you something! They never forgot me in the UK yet!

(edit) except the lavalamp...

(edit again...) I just realised what I need. I need a Google credit card and my money paid into a US dollar account offshore somewhere. Now that WOULD be a useful pressy!

You two should get together, since you seem to have desires that complement each other.

...but...eeeeewwww...the images this conjures up, Sailor.

On second thought (since I sounded depressive earlier), I do have a healthy wish list going on at Amazon. Now that would be sweet!

"a 2000 sites filter list option would make us all happy. ;) "

Naaaa.... "NO FREAKING SITE TARGETED CPM ADS" button would do.

I realllly want the lava lamp - even more than the mini fridge. How come you got a lava lamp, and did anyone else get one?

A nice gift would be a EPC of 10 USD/per click for 60 minutes or so :)

I got a lavalamp... it was for the video ads. I felt kind of bad about it, because I tried running the ads and they didn't work well on my site (revenue and technical reasons). I gave mine away to a site visitor. It wasn't google branded (to my knowledge, I never opened it). Just a lavalamp like the one you get at Spencer Gifts.

I could have sworn I got a red led flashlight three years ago from them, but maybe that was some other ad firm.
