Any Negative Impact to site/listings?

Has anyone experienced this?

Has anyone experienced any negative impact to their organic (or Adwords) listings within Google, or organic within other engines, once they implemented Adsense?

We are going to use it in a section of our site that is well trafficked due to some top listings, but that we don't necessarily monetize now. However, I am concerned that trying to make a couple of bucks might hurt us in the organic listings with other SE's.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Adding Adsense does not have any impact on the SERPs for our site. Since adding it a year ago, we are still at the top for many of our keywords across the various search engines.

It will depend on where you place code and overall changes that occur the same as any other changes you make on your pages i.e. algo on each search engine

my own testing indicates some changes in organic serps on other engines with adsense

does the gain in earnings outweigh loss of serps placing only you can answer that

I think it is kind of difficult to answer that question since one does not really know how the other SEs work and the status of the SERPS is always changing due to many factors such as the optimization of other sites.

My own Yahoo and MSN referrals have probably gone up five fold since the introduction of adsense in my site back in June 03. I really couldn't tell you if I had not put the code in my site if the traffic would have gone up ten-fold instead of five.

I can't see how one would determine an effect either way....

No impact on my site, infact my listing improved, but I am not sure if this has to do with adsense.

Thanks guys. I feel better about using Adsense.

I wonder if it is possible if the content within the Adsense ad is valued on your page when the page is crawled. Assuming that G does a good job with relevant matches, this might help with the KW weight on the page. Or am I off base because this is a script that isn't even pulled when the page is crawled?

Thanks again.

The content from the AdSense ads do not appear when the page is fetched by a crawler, since the ads are generated off-site through an iframe. Even if they were generated on-site using javascript, since the crawlers don't parse javascript on the pages, they still would not see the text of the ads.
