Recently, there was a thread here about how to track ads.

In this thread, I would request all of you to share-

1-how you track your ads
2-how do you interpret your adsense reports and work on increasing profit

I used to just use the channel stuff in adsense, which as I only show one ad block a page, worked very well for me. However I ran out of channels a long time back, so now jiggle them around once in a while to keep an eye on another batch - not ideal, but not got too much time for in depth adsense analysis these days.

There are loads of free bits of software out there that you can use to track adsense with - I'm sure one of the guys will mention it when they see this thread.:)

I don't track by Ads, only by pages. Only new pages get their own URL channel until I've formed a view as to how they are performing.

Unfortunately I have too many pages to track each 1, so they are grouped (using a directory structure) that allows me to assign a single URL channel to track the performance of a set of related pages.

If I think a page is underperforming, then I may consider revising the content to try and attract better Ads (I don't spend much time playing "whack-a-mole" to filter out the low paying Ads, I prefer to try t attract the high paying ones.) If there does not appear to be sufficient good Ads to fill my spaces, I reduce the spaces available.
