5 hours to go for Friday (Google time) and I'm down 80%! Anyone having a holiday anywhere in the world?

Yep, it's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada eh. Monday being the official holiday. Not to mention hockey season has started. :p

Do you think that Canadian Thanksgiving will really be a downer for North American traffic?

Monday might be slightly slow. Hard to see how that (or any other celebration currently going on anywhere in the world) could drop Friday's traffic by 80%.

If Andrew's looking for an answer, it will be in his web logs and/or SE listings.

If it's any consolation to andrew, I'm down 60%, with eCPM more than halved. I was looking for an answer too, but for now I'll blame the loss on the double whammy of smart pricing and holiday weekend.

For me, Thursday and Friday are both well down on last week - about 45%. But when I look further it seems to be because last week's performance was so good - if fact, this weeks values are my second best ever!

My ecpm and income is better than average friday. But I wouldnt worry yet because theres still a search update going on I believe - so you could be getting badly targeted traffic?

Everything else is normal. In fact, since my site started ranking on page #1 for most of my key phrase variants, traffic has increased.

BUT I just don't understand it. More traffic = less clicks?

Absolutely not. Canadian traffic only accounts for a very small percentage of overall traffic. 5% in my case.

Andrew, for the sake of our sanity it's necessary to explain what exactly the problem is when you start one of these threads. When you asked if there was a holiday somewhere, I naturally assumed your traffic was down.

So it that your traffic is the same but clicks are down 80%? That seems weird, and not the kind of weird that could be explained by a long weekend somewhere. Or is it a combination of clicks and low payour per click? Or what?
