About seven or eight years after I started it, when I joined AdSense in Oct. of 2003....

[added] But I should add that I pretty much doubled my earnings in the summer of 05 when I figured out how to place an AdLinks block in a prime position on my home page.

My site's been running and showing Adsense since the last week in June. I added new pages steadily throughout July and August - haven't added much since.

It took me 3 weeks to recover what I lost on day 2.

July made a profit
August made nearly three times July's profit
September more than doubled August's profit

Traffic and profit have both increased significantly since August - this is great - it seems the less I work, the more I earn!

I still have a way to go before I can give up the day job, but last week's profit was about equal to the UK average weekly wage for a new graduate.

I certainly had times when I felt pretty depressed - I was putting in 80 hour weeks for July & August with little to show for it. It's only recently that my average earns per hour worked on my site has got close to the minimum wage - I'm still not there yet! Still I passed the $1 a day pretty quickly, whereas you seem to have got bogged down.

How much traffic do you get and where does it come from?

How many pages do you have? Is your content attracting good quality Ads.

My experience confirms that "Content is King" Good content attracts good Ads - often better paying. Good content also makes it easier to attract more visitors with having to spend too much to get them.

I've also seen that stability has helped - it seems to take a few weeks before pages perform at their best.

took me 7 years, i only joined adsense in 2005 and only started fiddling around in june... then it went up very fast.

Mind you, I have over 16.000 content items that get searched as an archive by google and since i am also to open members only sections from next month on this will only increase I think.

Btw, I am 30 now and i started the site years back because I wanted to have a site about my niche... and now it finally pays back very well.

Content IS king is the least i can say.
