Hey Guys,

I have a 10 year old site with one million page views per month. Topic is general business orientated ad-ins software free giveaway. Previously it was a $50 product, so the visitors are elated that they saved $50 and want to spend it elsewhere. Needless to say I have good conversions and a 2 minute download time per page which spawns a 6% CTR. There is not a lot of copy just a few lines of text: headline, thumbnail preview link & download link.

I have a 728x90 space at the top of 24 pages to give. Presently there is a large blended rectangle at the center of the page that is doing great. I really don't want to disturb my present numbers or eCPM which is almost perfect. Just trying to squeze another $1K (.01 per view)out of it what do I do?

1) Put an Adsense adblock at the top and spec image only
(that would be the easiest path but would that mess up my present eCPM)

2) Apply to a new CPM vendor (I belong to Valueclick but dont like their inventory)

3) Look for a site sponsor to take all the page views for a flat rate

Ideas? Recommendations?

Have you tried Adlinks?
A horizontal set of links at the bottom, maybe?
The return I had from Adlinks was better than I expected.

I started off with them but found it too hard to control the topics.

There would always be two good ones, one semi and one out to lunch. Besides they cost 1 pageview to look at and 2 pageviews with a click. That tends to drive your eCPM down, right?

I think the lack of supportive general copy was against me in that situation.

Also they are a larger door for MFAs to use. I try to keep my average click over 20 cents and found a lot of cheap clicks coming through them that dropped my eCPM.

I think if I was ou I would try for a flat sponsor - sounds like a perfect site for it, and would possibly compliment your site - thats a lot of visitors - you might even get over $1K - who knows?

Thanks

That is the most difficult but best route,it would look the most professional and offer someone great branding. I have appoached a few people but usually they are too big or too small. I only serve the most pervasive software suite on the face of the earth, youd think it would be easy!

Applied to Tribal Fusion maybe they have something compatible.

Any other outfits that have CPM "business audience" offerings?

Hi,

I use TribalFusion and Casale Media.

Both seem reasonable.

Any opinions on adding the extra image only adblock?

eCPM killer or worth a try?
