A bit of advise on ad placement?

A couple of friends and I recently launched a website called PulpingFiction, and we have beeing running adsense for about 2 weeks. At the beginning our eCPM was about 60-70, now it is as low as $7. I'm guessing it is because the ad placement is horrible, but I don't really know where else to put the ads. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Webmaster World. It's a great place to learn.

Bad news first. Look down near the bottom of the page, click on "Terms of Service", and take the time to read what you agreed to when you registered here. We can't promote our own sites.

On to your site's ads. One of the words in the title and URL of your blog is triggering ads for the pulp and paper industry. The only way those ads are going to get enough clicks to give you an eCPM that's as high as you quoted is if you've been clicking on them yourself, which is sure to get you banned from AdSense. You need to filter out those ads and provide text that triggers ads of more interest to your visitors. This is more important than the ad placement itself. You can learn about that by reading the information Google provides under "set up", paying attention to what's called the "heat map".

Hope this helps you.

Yeah it helps a lot, thanks. And I definitely don't click on my own ads, that is just plain fradulant and ridiculous. The reason the eCPM was as high as I said was probably because I had all the posts on the homepage and I actually only had one page. But a few days ago I decided to separate all the posts into different web pages.

So filter out "pulping", what else can I possibly do?
