No, you don't need to be that click-shy, Pengi. You absolutely can click on the links. Just not on the ads in the page that then appears.
If you don't click on the links, you have no way of knowing what ads are showing up. There is no preview tool for adlinks.

Yes. The link is to related terms and ads for that term. Stay clear of the ads.

That's right. I tried it once just to get a sense of what visitors were typically being presented with. What I saw on that particular page was well-targeted and nothing to be concerned with.
