Where do I go from here?

Stuck at $7/day.

First of all I am a newbie, so go easy on me if this is a silly or redundant question. I have a website that gets about 700 uniques and 2,000 pageviews every day. I get about $7/day from adsense ads and have been stuck there for a while. I have heard that going from $0 to $10/day is easier than going from $10 to $20. Obviously more traffic will help increase my revenue, but I already have #1 rankings on Google, Yahoo, and MSN. My site requires little maintenance, so I can just let it run and make money. Is there a point where I need to just accept this site's "terminal earning potential" and then work on another site to increase my overall earnings? Or are there other ways of increasing my adsense revenue that I am not thinking about? (the ads are blended, visible on over 11,000 pages, and about 10% of my visitors click ads)

Thanks for any help!

A low or no maintenance site that is ranked #1 and makes $7 a day is great.

Now go forth and make another!

Make 14.285714285714285714285714285714 more sites like that and you'll be at $100/day. :p

Look at the ads themselves. Are they on target? Do they point to sites that visitors benefit from visiting? Are they for sites you would want to visit?

Any that don't make the grade, I filter out.

And obviusly by saying "look at the ads", I mean determine their basic URL and go there, as opposed to just clicking on them

write more content
think of new features-- what will keep people coming back? forum? new fun interactive features?

keep expirimenting and optimizing the site... play around with it. I thought I was earing as much as I could with $50/day, then I hit on a layout that pushed it up to like $75/day....

Perhaps it's just your niche as not all niches are profitable.

Having #1 rankings are meaningless for certain categories, such as JOKES as people are running around the 'net looking for funny things to look at and read, not looking to spend money.

Having #1 rankings for TRAVEL could make you rich or get you assassinated if the rest of the people figure out who you are, because people are looking to TRAVEL and prepared to spend money.

I find this confusing...

11,000 pages, and about 2000 page views and about 10% of visitors click giving 200 clicks per day giving about $7.

so you make 0.035 cents per click?

If I had those numbers of clicks, I would have about 3 to 4 times that income per day.

Something doesn't feel right here ....

haha no its not a site about travel or jokes. I think uhwebs idea of making the site more interactive and getting more return visits is probably the best route I could take. It would probably be easier to get 700 additional uniques/day on my current site than to get up to 700 uniques/day on a brand new site. Thanks for all of your help guys!

No I meant 10% of my uniques click each day. 700 uniques a day x 10% = 70 clicks/day = about $7/day.

less than 10% of your uniques click, because often visitors come back and click on different ads.

OK, not intending to depress you, but my wife's site gets less traffic and makes more money from AdSense.

Niche niche niche is the key.
