not really worth it?

Whenever I cover a local event that is popular I always get thousands of page impressions within the first few days, but never any clicks. I know that having photos is not the best page content for AdSense ads so I usually just put them on the index pages as I also write something about each event I attend.

Considering the amount of work that I put into covering these events I don't know if it worth continuing to put AdSense on the pages.

If you browse old threads, you'll find a number of testimonies to the fact that spikes in traffic, almost regardless of cause, don't mean more clicks.

People are coming to your site to read about the event. They aren't shopping or even browsing for information.

I have a similar problem with two pages that get lots of visitors who come there to find the latest updates. AdSense ads do terribly on those pages.

So, do something else. Put up ads for your site, at least. Get people to see what else you have. Or put up affiliate ad or some kind of CPM banner.

I have removed the ads from one section of my site that already had referral linking as it wasn't doing very well and felt like double dipping.

The pages that get the most clicks also have the highest exit ratio of my entire site so people are not really that interested in them anyway.

At least people are staying to look around on my website even if they are not clicking.

That is actualy what clicks do to your site, exit ratio for the page will increase if the page has more clicks RIGHT?
