I know in general we're not supposed to alter the AdSense code, and I've been very careful not to. But the search box code (which is horrendously ugly BTW) just screams to be altered. For instance I'd like to show: (radio) Web (radio) mysite.com instead of www.mysite.com, though I want the site search to be on www.mysite.com. Certainly I should be able to change that? And for that matter, what about styling the font or other elements? As long as I'm sending all the right form fields to the search results page, does it really matter?

Or if I change the code around am I going to be posting a "I got banned from AdSense" thread next week?

I'm sure you can change that.

Read the TOS very carefully, it says something somewhere IIRC correctly (and I'm not going to look it up for you ;-). And then think about possibilities involving a) JavaScript and b) CSS which will keep you within the letter, if not the spirit, of anything written in the TOS.
