I have a site with about 200 or so pages, and I'm going to try implementing adsense for search. Am I allowed put up links to common things people search for on the site, or is that a TOS violation?

i think the user has to type the query into the box themselves, i remember reading that a few years ago when i started with adsense and was thinking of doing the exact same thing, but i was just glancing over the TOS and saw nothing on it so it may have changed. if i was to guess i would say it was against the TOS, just because it seems wrong and they would probaly prefer you to use adlinks. but if you are using the site search feature, to link to say other widget info on your site at the end of one widget article or something that seems less "wrong". maybe set it up to use the normal google search results instead and mail that to adsense and ask if you could substitute adsense for search instead.

You could put suggested search terms below the search box as regular HTML text so that the user could be reminded of search terms, or they could cut and paste the search terms into the search box.

Populating your search box with search terms is not allowed, neither are direct hyperlinks to search results pages with your adsense-ID in it. Users always have to enter the search query themselves.
