Adsense doesn't understand metaphors

Just one word about metaphors: The can bring up funny and usesless Adsense ads.

An example: In German we have a saying like "don't let yourself grow grey hair". That means: "Don't worry about that".

Using this saying in an article about server administration the resulting adsense ads did not fit at all. They were all about "Losing hair", "colorize hair" and so on.

So watch out for metaphors in your articles. They can bring up Adsense ads that do not fit at all.

For your weather site:

It's like "pulling teeth" getting a straight answer around here!

Your taking a gun to a knife fight, why don't you just "break the bank" and hand the job to a professional writer?

"hand the job"

Without trying to be offensive, but what kind of ads do you think Google will blow out of this?

Mention an electric mixer and get ads about all sorts of mixers: cement mixers, mortar mixers, kitchen mixers, paint mixers, etc. Could be good, but could also be very bad depending on your visitor.

>what kind of ads

A well seo'd article? I have a friend that makes "up to a $1000 a year" from some of his articles ;-)
