Hi
I am new to adsense, and have just added it to one of my small sites.
I see clickthrough ratios of 4% to 10%. is that high?
Or is that normal and skewed, as the site is small though the adsense ads are perfectly on target for the content and visitors?

Clickthrough rate depends on the advertisements you are getting and how closely targetted they are to your visitors. They also depend on how many ads are shown, in which format and what colour scheme you are using.

Comparisons with similar traffic/ area are possible... however there is always the "novelty" effect. Whenever there are new ads - the CTR goes up for a day or so then levels off. It depends how many visitors to your site are repeat visitors.

CTR is a meaningless stat. If a site has 1000 visitors and the average visitor visits 1 page with a CTR of 10%, and you have another site with 2000 visitors, the average visitor visits 10 pages but the CTR is only 3% which one is really higher?
