Hello -

Can you get Google Adsense to ignore certain parts of a web page? I have a site with short articles with Adsense calls connected to the article content. The problem - when putting related links at the bottom of the webpage, the link names are causing some sponsored link changes that are unwanted.

Can you get Google to ignore items for targeting?

Does the integration of your Adsense script have a priority on which <table> it's placed in?

Regards

Mike

You'll need to use either images (of text) or javascript

Are you saying that if I use javascript to write text to my page (document.write(), etc), adsense ignores it? Does it ignore everything between <script> tags?
Thanks

It was my question to their support on the first day I joined Adsense, back in April. Many of my pages had some text which made Adsense think it was a tourism page.

javascript
or iframe
or customized content delivery (cloaking) to Mediapartners bot

I don't know if Google will object to #3, but as long as a publisher is going through all the trouble to allow them better targeting, I don't think they should.

G suggested that one can filter the URLs.

Btw I've had problems with G after using iframe in another site (not-Adsense one), so you may want to test carefully. I thought nothing was wrong and implemented it across all the site and had 1000s of pages dropped from G's index.
