How does google feel about these clicks?

Hopefully I am not being repeticious in asking this question, but what is Googles view of multiple back clicks by a single user. Meaning - if someone sees 3 ads they want to click on, then clicks back to your site to view the remainding ads, do they view this as spam?

No way. Not 3 of them. That kind of user behavior is common. Let's face it, those of us who do this kind of work may, out of consideration, type the URL instead of clicking on an adsense ad, especially if we know we're not buying. But the common user (my mother, for example) doesn't understand how adsense works.

Google certainly must have study results on common user behavior. Anything that appears excessive and repetitive is easy to spot.

3 clicks is neither repetitive nor excessive.

Thanks...I was hoping that was their take!

Personally I have trained myself not to click on ANY Google ads...I do as you do...just type them in. There can be no accidents in this game :)

It could also be that if someone has a pop-up blocker installed it takes them a few clicks before they remember to hold down the control key (or whatever override their software uses).

All regular publisher's AdSense opens AdSense ads in the SAME window, it doesn't launch a new one, so this won't be a problem. Only a few premium publishers are opening AdSense in a new window.

I did a statistic yesterday. One of my ads has been clicked - according to Google - 21 times since June 1.

My webserver log however shows that 46 visits which came with the ad referrer (and - yes - I'm ONLY counting the retrieval of the HTML document and not the images).

I agree that multiple-clicking from the same user to the same ad is not uncommon behaviour. And my logs seem to support this.
