Google Stats VS. Server Stats

google stats don't always match server stats

I've noticed that I have one site that did 21,000 page views, but my Google page views says 18,000 and that is not just for that site, as I have another site that only gets like 2,000 page views but it's counted in with the 18,000. Some of my pages are dynamic that have a query, do you think it is not counting when these are being viewed? If so am I getting paid for clicks on those pages. For this particular site, it has no pages that do not contain Adsense and I don't have any pages like support, contact us etc. that would be against the terms of services for adsense to be on.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This discrepancy is normal. For example:

Another factor: pages that don't finish loading.

The discrepencies may also be due to:

The loading of CSS, flash, applet files. These will show on your logs but not on google adsense.

The loading of alternative ads which calls a html on your server. This is a big difference for me. If you filter these out, google stats will match yours pretty closely.

Thank you all for your responses :)

I took a closer look at the logs and it looks like I have alot of bots checking out pages. Thank you for the insight, I now know what to look for when I see this.

Very helpful, thanks!
