Several sites with 2 adsense banners or adsense + box text links

I have noticed a few sites that display 2 adsense banners, either directly hardcoded or 1 hardcoded and other through an ad network.

1 other site that I noticed had 2 adsense + own text links which almost looked like google adsense.

This combination doesn't follow all the time, it does in several refreshes. Thanks to a banner rotation program.

I saw this almost 20 days back, then checked back around 15 days ago, and I checked again today, but they are still going strong :) Lucky for them.

On the side, whats Google's loss if it allows us to place a skyscraper as well as a 468 banner? As it is, I am sick of my other ad networks and I want to replace them with Google Adsense, but I horridly fear the consequences if I upset Google.

Until they get a third code going that will allow for showing 6 ads {2 in the banner + 4 in the sky}, you will show the first two ads twice. I suspect that this would throw off the number of impressions shown in content-partner pages and skew the stats. Besides that, I don't see any other problem. Anyone has other ideas?

Regarding people showing two ads, I had a similar problem the other day with an adnetwork, that was showing "contextual banners", but the campaign was not there for me to deselect. I had to remove their code from my pages for two days until that problem was taken care of. Therefore, I am more understanding of webmasters showing two ads by mistake. I am sure that the Google editors will catch it eventually.
