No ads displayed on index page

I've got them on every other page though

The index page has caused me lots of grief over the last 6 weeks since I've put up AdSense. I was in the same boat as everyone else, had totally mistargeted ads and occasionally targeted ads.

The weird thing started the weekend before last. For 3 days there were NO ads on the index page. No PSAs (never had them) not nothing. I said, ok, advertisers paused their campaigns for the weekend, budgets are running dry with the end of the month approaching.

Things got serious this weekend. Since Saturday (and it's now Thursday) there are NO ads on the index page. All the other pages have good targeted ads. There isn't even a mistargeted ad or PSA. I've sent Google a snapshot of the page and they said they're investigating it and they'll get back to me bla bla bla.. we know how that turns out.

Anyone had similar experiences?

Thanks.

Yep the home page blues here as well. The only thing I can figure is that AdSense does not want my home page in their system. I'll let it go for another week or so but then I'm going to have to remove that unit.

I did create a new channel to only that home page a few days ago and the first set of stats indicate a $0 for that day. Like I said I'll see if things change and if not I'll just have to get rid of it.

Why would they not want the page in their system? For me it's the highest traffic page so it would be quite a loss.

Here's a possibility... If you have a webpage that's widgets.com that's not showing ads, try making your index.html page a redirect to something like index.shtml and put your index page there, at least for the time being (so it would go to widgets.com/index.shtml). I know it sounds silly, but one of my pages was doing that, and actually I discovered by accident as I upgraded my pages to have .shtml code vs. .html code that it made AdSense crawl that page again -- and subsequently provide it with targeted ads (versus blank PSAs).

I had this same problem, beginning about ten days ago. After about five days, I removed Adsense from my home page, added it back a half hour later, and everything was fine again. It's been fine since.

I removed the code for half a day. Put it back up and same result. Not a single ad :(. Maybe AdSense Advisor can give us some info?

Yesterday ads started showing again on the homepage. Not sure if it's a conincidence, but yesterday I removed the code from another site using AdSense (which wasn't performing well).

Got an email from support saying the homepage "should now be displaying more relevant ads". Well, at least they're not from a different continent like before, that's for sure. Not sure what did the trick to bring back the ads...

Does this mean they can "tweak" individual pages?

If ur ads not being shown at all ask a friend of yours in another country, if they are able to see then everything is fine.Coz after 1 day I got all my ads back.

I noticed this couple of times, If I make html changes from any particular IP, at times it doesn't show any ads at all.

Just ask you friend or someone from another location to see if ads are appearing :)

Some reasons could be a particular URL was blocked temporarily by AdSense. Another reason could be a script running on the page (ie. a popup script, a frame breaker script, etc) that was conflicting with the AdSense javascript. Since these are often located on the home page, it could have been a reason for the problem.

It couldn't have been a conflicting script, there aren't any scripts on that page. It's just a plain css layout.

i'm experiencing a similar problem on one of my sites... most of the content pages are alright, but the index pages serves up completely unrelated ads...

the homepage seems to be the biggest problem for everyone here... why would the homepage be viewed as different? hmmmm...
